John Travolta Plans to Fly Family Around the World
John Travolta is rich enough to have a private airline pilot at his beck and call -- but flying is one duty he'd prefer to take on himself. The actor recently made that clear by adding a new Learjet to his aircraft collection.
The Bombardier Challenger 601 is a luxury business jet that seats 12 and reportedly costs millions of dollars. At a press conferences introducing his new plane, Travolta (who's a newly announced brand ambassador for the company) explained that thinks of it as a family vehicle.
"My family fortunately loves traveling," Travolta, 57, told People on Tuesday. "Whenever I say, 'I have to go to Australia or Paris,' they say, 'When are we going? I'm there.'"
Travolta started taking flying lessons at age 15 and got his pilot's license at 23, all while maintaining a Broadway and film career.
"I love (flying) so much that I built my house next to a (runway) so I could fly my jet to my front door," he told reporters.
So while the majority of family's hop into their minivan or SUV for a roadtrip, the Travoltas -- including wife Kelly Preston, 48, and kids Ella Bleu, 11, and baby Benjamin, 9 months -- will be jumping into their new plane for some jet-setting around the globe!

Another year, another unbelievably action-packed Video Music Awards. As expected, viewers were treated to mind-blowing performances and several jaw-dropping surprises. The most unexpected moment came courtesy of Beyoncé Knowles, who not so subtly announced to the world that she and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child.
When B unbuttoned her sparkly jacket and rubbed her belly with a knowing smile, after which the camera panned to a visibly elated Jay-Z and Kanye West cheering from the audience, the Nokia Theatre was bursting with warm and fuzzy well-wishes for the soon-to-be parents. And that very public moment of celebration was just the beginning.
When Beyoncé returned backstage to her dressing room, she was greeted by a team of people who enveloped the visibly happy star with hugs, cheers and congratulations.
Click for photos of Beyoncé's big VMA night.
"I'm free!" she said to one of the well-wishers, indicating that she and Jay are thrilled to not have to keep such a big secret any longer. "We're all free!" she said to the group.
A few minutes after her arrival backstage, she was joined by her husband, a very excited West (whose first words upon entering the dressing-room area were "Where is Beyoncé?" as if he could not wait to give B a huge hug) and her former Destiny's Child ladies, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Even with the doors to their dressing rooms closed, the applause and whoops of joy could be heard everywhere backstage.
"That was an eventful night, to say the least," Jay, still smiling, said to some of the revelers in the hallway, who continued to shower him with congratulations and hugs.

'Abduction': The Reviews Are In!
Critics can't get away from Jacob/'Twilight' comparisons as Taylor Lautner bids for action-hero status in John Singleton flick.

For much of his career, Taylor Lautner has either been a karate-kicking spy kid or a heartbroken werewolf hopelessly in love with his mortal enemy's girl. But on Friday (September 23), the teen star launched the next phase of his career in the John Singleton-directed "Abduction."
The film centers on a young man (Lautner) who realizes that his life isn't exactly what it seems. His character sets out to learn who he really is after finding his baby picture posted on a missing-persons website. In addition to Lautner (in his first lead role), the movie also stars Lily Collins as his love interest and a number of A-listers, including Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello and Alfred Molina.
Before you head to the theater this weekend, check out this handy "Abduction" cheat sheet and read on for what the critics are saying about Lautner's giant leap from teen werewolf to action hero.
Taylor Lautner the Action Hero
"Even playing the hunted, jacked-up, dude-on-the-run hero of a 'realistic' action film, Taylor Lautner still looks like the world's sexiest werewolf in 'Abduction.' There's a stylized quality to his features — not just the lupine snub nose, but the daggerish Son of Spock eyebrows that lend him a squint of intensity even when not very much is going on. That face gives Lautner one advantage as an actor: He's a great camera subject, like the young Matt Damon crossed with Tom Cruise." — Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly
The Inevitable Jacob Comparisons
"Lautner's sensitive young stud in 'Abduction' isn't far removed from the pining werewolf he plays in the 'Twilight' movies. They both have anger issues, yes, but they also can be achingly sweet and vulnerable and protective — and shirtless, when appropriate." — Glenn Whipp, Los Angeles Times
The Final Word
"In the end, it all feels like much ado about not much. The film lets Lautner down more than the other way around and he essentially holds his own surrounded by the sturdy likes of Weaver, Molina, Isaacs and Bello. Collins, who made her big-screen debut in 'The Blind Side' last year and has the title role in the forthcoming 'Snow White,' has a promising, offbeat appeal." — Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter

Swedish House Mafia To Play Madison Square Garden
Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello confirm December 16 show at famed New York arena.

British dance music tastemaker Pete Tong's Essential Mix brought official confirmation Friday (September 23) of what American fans of house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia have suspected for a few weeks now: Yes, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello are slated to take the stage at New York's famed Madison Square Garden in December.
In fact, two "One Night Stand" performances have been announced and confirmed by the Swedes' label, EMI: December 16 at MSG and July 14, 2012, at Milton Keynes National Bowl in England.
Rumblings of an epic announcement have been suspected since the group first posted a website, www.230911.com, teasing coded numbers and letters that eventually came to spell out MSG and MKB. In fact, it's a form of underground promotion SHM has become known for: Before March's Miami "Masquerade Motel: One Night Stand" beach party, they released a series of teaser videos online.
With some of global DJ music's biggest hits of the past couple of years under their collective belt already — "Leave the World Behind," "One" (with Pharrell Williams), "Miami 2 Ibiza" and "Save the World" — their MSG showing will keep in line with the way Swedish House Mafia intend to conduct business: Every undertaking aims to one-up the next.
In just a year and a half, the holy trinity of house will have gone from headlining Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival to hosting their very own 15,000-strong South Beach party. And now comes the Garden.
Should it be a surprise that a dance music outfit will follow in the footsteps of U2, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and the Kings of Leon? Maybe not to those in the know. But in a two-year period, it's fair to say one of music's most-underground genres has gone pop. Afrojack, David Guetta, RedOne and Dr. Luke have turned the radio "club," and EDM festival attendance has skyrocketed. Dance music has never been more popular — and according to some their biggest stars, if anyone can handle the Garden, it's "the Swedes."
"The Swedish House Mafia crew: If there is one thing you can note them for, it's thinking outside the box," Pete Tong said. "It's exciting. It's something for the people to talk about that moves the culture forward."
When MTV News caught up with Tiësto in Miami this year, he said, "They inspire me. Sebastian is like the Mozart of Sweden. Steve is brilliant. He makes great underground tracks, and he has the right soul. Axwell is the pretty boy," he said, laughing. "Brown hair, blue eyes, who delivers great music. They are all three amazingly talented."
Chuckie called SHM "biggest thing at the moment." "They do the craziest club tracks, the biggest mainstream records. I really like those guys and really respect them. Swedish House Mafia, to me, is the biggest thing out there, for real."
Tickets for "One Night Stand," December 16 at Madison Square Garden, go on sale September 30 at 10 a.m. ET. For information about pre-sales and how to get tickets, head over to Swedish House Mafia's website and Facebook page. And keep your eyes and ears peeled: Expect a live album, One Night Stand, recorded on the road this year, which will feature their latest single, "Antidote" (a collaboration with Knife Party: Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from Pendulum), and the official release of their remix of Coldplay's "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall."

It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories.
"I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good."
Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m."
"Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?"
While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]."
Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life."
"My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb & Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' "
Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night."
Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy."

In the funny new series Whitney, comedian Whitney Cummings plays a quirky woman who gets creative as she tries to keep the spark going with her live-in boyfriend (Chris D'Elia).
But just because Whitney doesn't have the perfect relationship doesn't mean she can't dish out relationship advice! "I don't understand why women use the silent treatment on their man," she says in this sneak peek at her new show (which premieres Sept. 22 on NBC). Arnold Schwarzenegger to Write 'Total Recall' Autobiography
Arnold Schwarzenegger is ready to come clean about his life. The former governor and international action superstar has signed on to write an autobiography about his life -- from his childhood in Austria to his separation from his wife of more than 25 years, Maria Shriver.
But those waiting for scintillating personal details about Schwarzenegger's alleged infidelities will be sorely disappointed.
"This book will not be a tell-all," a source tells People about the memoir, which is tentatively titled Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story.
"Nobody has a life story even close to his. Truly, Arnold is one of the most fascinating figures of our time," adds Jonathan Karp of publisher Simon & Schuster.
Schwarzenegger, 64, will start the book while working on his upcoming film project, The Expendables 2, with fellow action legend, Sylvester Stallone. Apparently he had planned to tell his story for a while but was waiting for the right time.
"He has been keeping notes and working on the book for over a year," Schwarzenegger's spokesman Adam Mendelsohn says. "He didn't want to write his autobiography while he was governor."
