Prince Harry has returned to the United States for a two-month stay, but this trip certainly won't be a vacation! The 27-year-old British prince has officially landed in El Centro, Calif., to begin his helicopter training for Exercise Crimson Eagle.
In order to become an Apache pilot, Captain Harry Wales will have to complete a month of training in El Centro and then spend another month at Gila Bend Air Force Auxillary Field in southern Arizona. Right now he is based at Naval Air Facility El Centro, which is one of the filming locations for Tom Cruise's 1986 flick Top Gun.
But don't be surprised if the notorious party animal takes a pit stop in Las Vegas, which is equidistant from both of his training bases. A source dished to the Daily Mail last month that Harry and his friends were planning on spending a wild 48-hour bender in Vegas when they were finally on U.S. soil. Apparently it's a "traditional breather" for Apache trainees. According to some British military personnel, it won't be too big a deal if Harry heads to Sin City for a little partying.
"If they want to fund it themselves and that's what floats their boat, then yea, they can go to Las Vegas," British Lt Col Peter Bullen, exercise director of the training session, told People. "If he wants to do that, it's completely up to him."
Looks like now's the time to book a flight to Vegas, if you want a chance to party with the prince!
